Its future depends on you.

As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, Westport risks losing the very institution dedicated to preserving and sharing its history.

Westport Museum must raise $750,000 by January 2027 to remain open in its current form.

For nearly 150 years, we’ve preserved our community’s history. Today, our award-winning exhibitions, original research and educational programs bring the American story to life for thousands of visitors.

But the Museum receives no funding from the Town of Westport, and despite years of fundraising and cost-cutting, our resources are nearly exhausted.

Without your help, we may be forced to sell our historic headquarters, relocate our collections and dramatically reduce public programs.

During America’s 250th, let’s not allow our own history museum to become history.

Your gift today can help keep our doors open, protect irreplaceable collections and ensure future generations can discover the stories that shaped our community.

Please give generously. Every donation matters.
