Admission: $5, Supporting the Earthquake & Tsunami Relief Efforts
Westport residents can learn about the Japanese art form of folding a flat piece of paper into a decorative three-dimensional sculpture and at the same time help Japan’s still-struggling earthquake victims. All proceeds from the $5 admission will help the people of Japan recover 18 months after the earthquake and tsunami of 2011. The workshop will feature not only the basic folding techniques for beginners and younger children, but also more complex figures for the advanced level. Holiday ornaments, gifts made of origami and washi (Japanese paper), and baked goods will also be available for purchase.
