America’s attempts to avoid entering the conflict of World War II were shattered in 1941 when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Just as in other towns across the nation, Westport
was thrust immediately into the second world war. Hear the story of several families who were affected by the war, on the home front and on the battlefield as we share objects from the war—including a ration book, helmet and medals–all related to the men and women who served.
Tuesday Treasures is a Westport Museum programming series showcasing objects from the collection not normally on public view. See and hear the stories behind some of the most unique, mysterious and impactful artifacts in our community.
