Not only did nearly a half million Americans lose their lives, and millions served in the armed forces but civilians supported the war effort at home, working in factories, planting victory gardens and volunteering for civilian patrols that kept a sharp eye for the enemy.Hear the tales of those who watched the skies on the beaches, fields, streets and hills of Westport through the air warden records left behind.
