The Vegetable: A play by F. Scott Fitzgerald

May 18th, 2019

8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Don’t miss a unique theatrical event: a costumed staged reading of The Vegetable, a little-known play by F. Scott Fitzgerald—who was a summer resident of Westport in 1920.

Fitzgerald’s play tells the story of a railroad office worker who dreams of becoming a postman…or the President of the United States. Westport Community Theatre has lined up some of Westport’s favorite stage actors to bring this rarely-produced political satire to life.

A collaboration with local historian Richard Webb and filmmaker Robert Steven Williams, and courtesy of publisher Charles Scribner III, this performance is part of the Town of Westport’s celebration of its most famous honeymooner.

Donations will go to benefit the Westport Historical Society—devoted supporters of Mr. Webb and Mr. Williams documentary Gatsby in Connecticut: The Untold Story.

For performance and reservation information please visit westportcommunitytheatre.com/ or call (203) 226-1983. Additional performance on May 19 at 2pm.
