Fly on over to WHS: Lunchtime Talk

May 9th, 2018

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Attract more birds! We are in the thick of spring migration and lots of birds are headed our way. Many birds spend all year in our yards while others just pass through during migration.  Learn how to make your yard more attractive to both the residents and these migratory birds.  We’ll also discuss how to set up a feeding station that allows you to feed the birds, NOT the squirrels, as well as other things you can do to make your yard even more attractive to our feathered friends, including hummingbirds, orioles, goldfinch and cardinals! Join us for a fun discussion on the nature in your own backyard! Chris Petherick of Wild Birds Unlimited of Fairfield will talk about which birds “summer” in our area, and how to attract them to our yards.

Chris is a life-long bird enthusiast and owner of the Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop in Fairfield. Chris developed a love of watching, feeding and learning about birds as a child from time spent with his mom and at the Audubon Center of Western New York. As an adult he honed his identification skills through many hours on the trails in pursuit of one more warbler.
