Irena Hart

Admission to the family-friendly marketplace is free.

The marketplace takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in conjunction with the 19th annual Hidden Garden Tour. The garden tour will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $35 for WHS members in advance; $45 nonmembers in advance; $50 general admission day of tour. For tickets, call 203-222-1424 or buy on-line.

The tour and the marketplace benefit the myriad programs of the Westport Historical Society, which is an educational organization dedicated to preserving, presenting and celebrating the history of Westport.

Irena Hart and her band will perform from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Veterans Green. Not only is Hart a talented musician with an exploding career, but she also has dedicated herself to being a philanthropist with her nonprofit organization Harmony4Kidz, which seeks to feed, clothe and find shelter for homeless youth.

Her music style gives an audience the opportunity to dance or to just listen. A guitarist, she is accompanied by a violinist and cellist. Her album “Heart Strings,” also the title of her first single, contemplates love and keeps her audience on the dance floor.

Tony Spero will perform strolling magic from 11 a.m. to noon. Spero’s interest in magic began at the age of 8, and he received his formal training under British magician Derek W. Hilton, with whom he collaborated for 10 years. Spero explains strolling magic on his web site as performing “magic one-on-one in small groups of people. Some of the most mind-blowing magic is up close and personal as it happens right in the spectator’s hands.”

Catch a Healthy Habit Café of Fairfield, an organic and vegan restaurant, will be serving lunch, and among the fare will be salads, sandwiches and smoothies.

Numerous artisans and vendors from throughout the area will be on hand with a trove of garden and home treasures.
