35 Long Lots Road

WestportNow today begins a new feature, “Honoring Our Heritage,” by Bob Weingarten, chair of the Westport Historical Society’s House Research and Plaque Committee and a Realtor with William Raveis Real Estate Company. The series will highlight some of the more than 190 houses in Westport that display the Westport Historical Society plaque. Inaugurating the series is the house at 35 Long Lots Road owned by Deej and Deborah Webb. Their plaque identifies the home as the William J. Nash House built in 1812. Prior to the Webbs purchasing the house in 2002, many notable Westport families lived in this house including the Elwoods, Godfreys, Fresenius, McFarlands and others.  Deej Webb, who grew up in an antique house in Westport, and his wife believe that “preservation has to be a top priority” for the town.  Bob Weingarten for WestportNow.com
