The Gardens

NEW Historic Walking Tour
Park behind Town Hall or in the Baldwin lot off Elm Street.  Leave the WHS on foot with your ticket/map to guide you on an ambling, half-mile loop encompassing a wonderful sampling of the hidden treasures within the new proposed historic district.

AROMATHERAPY
Tucked in the sheltered alcove created by the wings of a unique converted barn lies a delightful pinwheel parterre dedicated to cultivating and experimenting with herbs.  A playful fountain is the focal point of the garden view from the family dining room.

IVY LEAGUE
This vine-covered cottage was the quaint home of one of Westport's early crofters or farmers.  French doors now open out to a lovely pool and terrace with an abundance of overflowing planters backed by a lush and colorful hillside perennial border.

INN-TOWN
Once a cozy stop for wayfarers, the facade of this tidy home continues to welcome with colorfully planted urns on either side of the walkway leading to the arched front entrance, a perfect viewing point of pretty perennial flower beds and specimen trees.

BEE PLUS
A stone folly and millstone foundation evoke the history of this simple 1929 Dutch revival built alongside a stone channel, once the site of a tannery and a blacksmith shop.  Taste the honey prepared by a hive-full of gently honey bees who comb the area for pollen and nectar.

POOL OF LIGHT
The sun-drenched pool environment of this meticulously restored Victorian home is an entertainer's dream, featuring a perfect pool house, outdoor living room with fireplace, wonderful flower and vegetable gardens and a very charming potting shed.

CONSTANT GARDENER
A continuous array of color and fragrance distinguishes this beautifully realized outdoor living arena.  An ingenious organic vegetable garden is the latest endeavor of a gardener whose deep family horticultural history includes the cultivating of spectacular dahlias.

BALANCING ACT
A subtle and beautiful sense of symmetry and proportion is evident in every nuance of this extraordinary landscape creation.  The play of levels, geometric forms, architectural structure, elemental materials and gorgeous plantings are a complete delight.
