On Election Day, 30 children ranging from 5 to 10 years old met at the WHS for an action-packed day. Hilary Gibson designed a day that enabled participants to have a special experience integrated with the Cartoon Legacy exhibit, while also exploring Election Day themes. Chance Browne, one of the key contributors to the Cartoon Legacy exhibit, kicked off the day with the children, explaining his cartoon craft, how it is used and showing the participants pointers enabling them to create their own cartoon books. The children had opportunities to create several crafts utilizing cartoons. In the afternoon, Susan Gold, Hilary Gibson, and several wonderful young high school volunteers helped the children participate in several other craft and writing activities related to themes relevant to Election Day: freedom, rights and responsibilities.
