Mary Ann Hall Concert: Music For Children

December 10th, 2016

3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

This traditional Holiday Concert, presented by Mary Ann Hall’s Music For Children & Beyond™ program, will feature songs of Christmas and Hanukkah performed and accompanied by faculty from Music For Children on guitar, harp, keyboard and flute. The intimate setting of the WHS’s Sheffer Gallery will allow guest families and performers to enjoy “an up-close and beautiful musical sharing.” This year’s eleventh edition of MFC’s holiday concerts at the Westport Historical Society will also celebrate the themes of “peace, gratitude and kindness,” the society’s executive director, Susan Gold, said. Mary Ann Hall, who holds a master’s degree from the U of Michigan, founded Music For Children 43 years ago on the principle that “the child is the instrument.” Their mission, she said, is to develop musicianship and a lifelong enjoyment of music by “connecting the ART of the music with the HEART of the CHILD.”

Children from their musical theater program, Kaleidoscope of Theater will also perform at this year’s concert. Join us for the concert and cookie reception. Tickets are $15 for families, $5 per person, free for kids 2 and under, reservations are strongly suggested, call 203-222-1424.
