Our Archives Collection houses a library of books on Westport, Fairfield County, and Connecticut history, genealogy records, Victorian-era furnishings and crafts, and more. Our temperature-controlled vault contains collections of papers and documents on all areas of Westport history: maps, photographs, family histories, house histories, and much more.
This collection is available on an appointment basis for people to do research on aspects of Westport’s history. If you are too far away from Westport for a personal visit, we will search out your information and mail it to you for a $15 fee if you are a non-member, which includes a reasonable number of copies, plus postage. For non-members who come to WHS to do research, the copying fee is $1.00 per page and the scanning fee is $5.00 per image. Members do not pay a research fee, and pay $.50 per copy plus postage.
If you have documents relating to Westport history that you would like to donate to WHS Archives, we’d be happy to hear about them.
Please contact the Archives Department to discuss your archival questions or donations, and to make an appointment at firstname.lastname@example.org or (203) 222-1424 ext. 109.
